Important Information
This free e-newsletter is borne out of a
passion for proper health education to be made freely available to
everyone (and don’t worry, your email address will never be given to
anyone else – it remains confidential). I am 100% dedicated to finding
and reporting the truth on topics that matter and I am also
100% independent, which means I take no
money from companies or products I may write about, and I cannot be
bought off by suppliers. It is also not my intention to sell you
anything in this newsletter and I promote what I believe to be the
absolute truth at all times. Sometimes people heavily promote a
particular brand of water filter, cleaning agent, health product or
equipment for monetary gain, free advertising or some exposure as a
result of their “endorsement”. I have never done this, nor will I ever
do so. It is my absolute joy and pleasure to provide scientific
information in this newsletter – for free! Hope you enjoy it!
DISCLAIMER: The information contained in this Newsletter was prepared
from medical and scientific sources which are referenced and are

be used to treat or to prevent any medical condition unless it is used
with the full knowledge, compliance and agreement of your personal
physician or other licensed health care professional. Readers are

programme. All information supplied is for educational purposes only,

Creeds Store Has been Sold
(but we’re still here!)
I have sold Creeds after 3
successful years of operation,
but recently I realized I just
had TOO many balls in the air at
one time and felt it was time to
sell and move on – so at least
one ‘ball’ could be ‘put down’.
The name “Creeds” comes with me
(both shop and brand names) but
our brand will continue to
expand. The new owners will
have most of our products in
stock but you are also most
welcome to come to our rooms
where we have all our products
in our front shop (open 8.30-5pm
Mon-Fri) and continue to operate
our VIP discount scheme for
regulars (phone 021-794-3052 for
directions in Constantia). We
also offer a mail order service
- please contact our offices at
pa@sallyanncreed.co.za
for details. All our products
and lines are very much
available, with new ones joining
the ranks soon as we continue to
expand our operation. |

Soda Drinks Cause Pancreatic
Cancer |
 |
An interesting study funded by
the National Cancer Institute,
released this week, claims that
just TWO soft-drinks or sodas a
week will raise your risk of
pancreatic cancer! There have
actually been quite a few
studies on this and now a proper
study has been done. The
findings echo those of previous
studies, says Laurence N.
Kolonel, MD, PhD, a researcher
at the Cancer Research Center
and professor of public health
at the University of Hawaii,
Honolulu.
|
|
|
With his colleagues, he evaluated the
association between added sugars in the
diet and pancreatic cancer risk,
publishing the findings in 2007. “In
our study, we found a positive
association between high intake of
fructose and pancreatic cancer,”
he tells WebMD. “Since
high-fructose corn syrup is the main
sweetener in non-diet soft drinks, our
findings and those of the present study
are quite consistent.” Remember
– sodas and soft drinks are like liquid
sweets!! Yet again, we see the usual
suspect - toxic fructose - wearing the
black hat.

Eye-Strain and Blindness |
|
|
Q
Can chronic eye-strain
from hours at the
computer cause
blindness? |
| |
|
|
|
A:
Don't switch to Braille
just yet... While
eyestrain may be
irritating it won't do
permanent harm to your
vision. Symptoms of
eyestrain are our
bodies' way of telling
us to give our eyes a
rest. They include: |
·
sore and/or tired eyes
(itchiness, dryness,
redness, tearing, or
other discomfort)
·
headaches
·
backaches
· problems
with focus |
|
|
A 15-minute break every couple
of hours or so will help restore
optimal ocular operation. The
following eye revitalizers may
be helpful to try during this
recess: |
|
|
·
·
·
|
Rest the eyes by closing them gently and
loosely. While maintaining a relaxed
face, use the palms to enclose the eyes
in greater darkness. Throughout, breathe
slowly and deeply.
Keeping
the head steady, stretch the eyes by
looking from side-to-side, upwards,
downwards, and crossways. Clockwise and
counter-clockwise circular movements are
also good. All eye movements need to be
done slowly and smoothly.
Repeat
each exercise three times.
Slowly open and close the eyes at least
ten times. Then increase the pace for at
least another ten blinks done softly.
Relax with a massage of the temples
using the fingertips to finish the
activity.

Stroke Test |
 |
With the stress of life,
radiation, poor diet and
medication like HRT – there are
more unfortunate people having
strokes. But if you are in
their presence when this
happens, you may just be able to
help them avoid long-term damage
by recognizing the signs quickly
and doing something about it.
Quick diagnosis of a stroke is
essential though this can be
difficult because early signs
are often subtle. If strange
behaviour raises suspicions of a
stroke, ask the suspected victim
to: |
|
|
·
smile
·
repeat a simple sentence or tell you his
name and birthday
·
raise both arms in the air above his
head
· stick
his tongue straight out (if it goes
skew, he could have had a stroke)
If any one of the above four requests
are a problem, get the person to a
hospital as soon as possible, or call an
ambulance. Whatever you do – move
quickly! |

Health Tip
Watch this excellent video clip on how to
administer “continuous
CPR” – very important that we know how to do this,
and quite different from the usual method. It doesn’t
use mouth-to-mouth, and is very simple. |

Make it
Yourself: Athlete’s Foot
Balm
Either
you or your husband/wife/partner or child has had
Athlete’s Foot at some stage or other. Wouldn’t it be
nice to make your own balm to apply? Well now you can!
Here’s how:
Mix the following together:
4 tsp. wheat-germ oil
4 tsp. jojoba oil
˝ tsp. beeswax
25 drops tea-tree essential oil
Apply liberally twice a day, in circular motions – and
keep this up until the fungal growth disappears. |

Spiritual Health:
February is the “love” month – have you
ever thought how much God loves you? He
laid aside His majesty, He became a man
with all the problems we have, and He
ended up dying to show His love for us.
Taking our sins and sorrows on the
Cross, He set us free to enjoy
incredible LIFE. This indeed, is true
love – unmerited and undeserved. |
Forget love - I'd rather fall in chocolate!
