Important Information
This free e-newsletter is borne out of a passion for proper health education to be made freely available to everyone (and don’t worry, your email address will never be given to anyone else – it remains confidential). I am 100% dedicated to finding and reporting the truth on topics that matter and I am also 100% independent, which means I take no money from companies or products I may write about, and I cannot be bought off by suppliers. It is also not my intention to sell you anything in this newsletter and I promote what I believe to be the absolute truth at all times. Sometimes people heavily promote a particular brand of water filter, cleaning agent, health product or equipment for monetary gain, free advertising or some exposure as a result of their “endorsement”. I have never done this, nor will I ever do so. It is my absolute joy and pleasure to provide scientific information in this newsletter – for free! Hope you enjoy it!

GENERAL HEALTH NEWSLETTER - June 2008

Wow, we had so many people singing the praises of both MaxiBiotic and MaxiFos this past month!  Many people said they’d lost several kilograms in weight without changing anything else, just taking these two supplements! I’m thrilled so many people are benefiting in the areas of weight loss, no more bloating, constipation and diarrhoea - now all a thing of the past - I even have my hounds on the stuff!  Contact us at pa@sallyanncreed.co.za for more information.

I’ve given you some healthy tips here – hope you try them out, they really work!

Healthy Tips for Living Longer

You are never too old and it’s never too late to develop healthy habits, or improve your health.  Right away, here are 6 things you can do to improve your chances!

Lift your Arms Up: Orchestra conductors have been found to live longer than the general population because they keep their arms elevated for extended periods, during which time they’re in constant motion. This is excellent for strengthening the heart. Get the same benefits by “conducting” music at home. Simply grab something to act as a baton, play your favourite music and begin to conduct the orchestra, while your heart thanks you.  Listening and moving to music is a great stress-buster too.

Snack on Sardines: Apparently these tiny little fish were once thought of as “hobo food” but in truth are one of the best-kept long-life secrets. They provide you with vital nutrients including CoQ10 and omega-3 essential fatty acids called DHA and EPA, both of which support your heart, brain, and overall health. A can or two a week would be wise.

Eat Cruciferous Vegetables: Cruciferous vegetables contain glutathione, which is one of the most powerful and much-needed of all antioxidants. It helps protect against harmful free radicals that we’re all exposed to in pollution, water, and the food we eat. Good choices of cruciferous vegetables include Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage.

Take a Good Multivitamin/Mineral Complex Daily: The best ones provide the proper dosages of all the vitamins, minerals, and herbs needed to support every aspect of your health, from a healthy heart to your brain, eyes, bones, and more.  You might need more than one here, but speak to a qualified clinical nutritionist for help in knowing what you need.

Keep Moving: Walk on a regular basis for 20-30 minutes.  Make it a habit to take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator; park at the far end of the parking lot - every time you move, you’re helping to boost your health.

Look Up: Finally, keep a good, positive attitude about life. As simple as it may sound, your outlook on life might be the most important aspect of improving both the quality and length of your life.  Prayer is one of the most powerful immune stimulants you will find – so pray often, laugh a lot and keep remain optimistic no matter what!  Never get bitter, get better.

McDonalds announced it’s considering a more humane way of slaughtering its animals. You know they fatten them up and then kill them. You know the same thing they do to their customers, isn’t it? Jay Leno

Health Café: Easy Winter Split Pea Soup

500g dried split peas    8 cups home-made vegetable stock     2 onions, chopped
4 carrots, chopped      3 stalks celery, chopped     1 bay leaf
Pinch cayenne, to taste   2 teaspoons mild curry powder, or to taste
Freshly ground black pepper

Combine all ingredients in a large pot, bring to a boil and simmer 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are very soft. If you prefer a smooth soup, use a hand blender to puree it. Serve with ground pepper to taste.  Best done in a Le Creuset pot (we have gorgeous ones at Creeds!  Visit us at www.creeds.co.za)

Bye

Have a great month – and I leave you with these words from Proverbs 3:7-8 - Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn your back on evil. Then you will gain renewed health and vitality.

God bless you all this month
