I
mportant Information
This free e-newsletter is borne out of a passion for proper health education to be made freely available to everyone (and don’t worry, your email address will never be given to anyone else – it remains confidential). I am 100% dedicated to finding and reporting the truth on topics that matter and I am also 100% independent, which means I take no money from companies or products I may write about, and I cannot be bought off by suppliers. It is also not my intention to sell you anything in this newsletter and I promote what I believe to be the absolute truth at all times. Sometimes people heavily promote a particular brand of water filter, cleaning agent, health product or equipment for monetary gain, free advertising or some exposure as a result of their “endorsement”. I have never done this, nor will I ever do so. It is my absolute joy and pleasure to provide scientific information in this newsletter – for free! Hope you enjoy it!

The information herein should not be used to treat or to prevent any medical condition unless it is used with the full knowledge, compliance and agreement of your personal physician or other licensed health care professional. Readers are strongly advised to seek the advice of their personal health care professional before proceeding with any changes in any health care programme. GENERAL HEALTH NEWSLETTER

We haven’t seen too much evidence of summer here in the Cape so far, but now and then we get a sunny day – sigh, hope the real summer comes soon….  I’ll leap straight into the newsletter without further ado – little late this month due to being snowed under!

IN THE NEWS
Loads of new interesting articles (far too many to mention, sadly) have surfaced this past month, so I’ve cited some here for you to read.  Although I don’t have room this month to mention any, I’m sure those of you who read a lot will be amazed at all the new Fish Oil Studies surfacing – it’s really exciting.  I don’t think there has been a more researched substance in the past decade, nor one which continues to produce more overwhelmingly positive evidence for the improvement of all aspects of human (and animal) health. (See my websites too, for new articles on fish oil, especially the one with the recent findings on how it helps you
lose weight!)

South Africa’s Water Quality is Deteriorating… Fast!
South Africa's water quality is fast deteriorating but the shrinking scientific and engineering capacity to counter this is emerging as the "real crisis" to strike the country according to Dr Anthony Turton, a senior water researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), who maintains that up to 50% of municipalities "do not even have one qualified engineer" on their staff.  Turton cites scientific research to counter the toxic cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae, which is found in most of SA's river and reservoir systems, according to a recent CSIR study, and can cause diarrhoea and vomiting - and even liver damage over time.  It also appeared on the news a few weeks ago that SA has the worst water in the world…

"Nowhere else in the world is this happening so we cannot turn to other countries and say: 'Please help us'. We as a nation will be required to solve this problem as a nation.” Read the whole scary report.)  Truly, the ONLY way to ensure your water is safe today is with a proper Water Distiller – nothing else will come close.  The demand for distillers is high but new distillers arrive on Tuesday.  You may book one (in short supply as everyone wants a quality model – don’t buy the cheapies that pack up, ours last a lifetime) by phoning our offices or email pa@sallyanncreed.co.za Creeds have them too.  (I’ve never been so pleased to have distilled water available!  Imagine the alternative….??)

Cholesterol lowering drug 'increases risk of cancer by 50%

A cholesterol-lowering drug may increase the risk of cancer by half, according to new findings. Researchers found there were 105 cases of cancer in people taking Inegy compared to 70 in those on a dummy drug over a four year period. The study also suggested that Inegy, which combines a statin called simvastatin and another drug called ezetimibe, has little effect in reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.  Read the article here.

A good rule of thumb: vitamin C should be given while the doctor ponders the diagnosis - Frederick R Klenner, MD

Osteoporosis Drug May Cause Deaths
We already know these drugs lead to ‘jawbone death’, and now the new once-a-day tablet, which is under development (called Fablyn), may increase the chances of death from cancer or stroke, according to an FDA review posted on the agency web site. Read the article.

WHAT’S NEW
Sweet Pea
will be launched at the end this month. This is really one of the most delicious safe, natural sweeteners yet, and one I have worked on for a while and am very excited about it. You now have a choice of several safe, natural sweeteners available developed for Nourishing Solutions by Sally-Ann Creed, including: SuperSweet, Stevia, Xylitol (loose and in foil sachets) – and now Sweet Pea, which to me tastes the most like ‘real’ sugar. Not one single calorie and a Glycaemic Load of 0! It’s great to have a choice of safe sweeteners for food and beverages without the dangers of fructose or artificial sweeteners, which is all we’ve been dished up for too long.  Order R500 or more and we’ll pop in a surprise gift plus a bottle of Sweet Pea.

The Omega-3 Solution – yes, at last it’s available!  MCC Registered, and 80% active, it’s probably the strongest fish oil (and the purest) in the country.  The beauty of it is that you only need 2 softgels a day for a dose, so you can either continue to use the highly effective Ultimate Omega-3 capsules, or try The Omega-3 Solution.  This is Sally-Ann’s own personal brand under the Nutrition Solutions label.  We’ve had a bit of a run on it, but have fresh stocks in now, whew.

BULK DISCOUNTS & OCTOBER SPECIAL OFFERS
The range of goodies on offer for October appears on our BULK LIST.  We developed this list not for stores, but for people who wish to buy in bulk for themselves, or their families.  Bulk constitutes anything from 1-3kg, depending on what the product is.  We hope it helps a little…!

  • Ester C 60s – purchase 4 bottles at the retail price and get one free (a saving of R150)! (only one free bottle per person, and while stocks last)
  • Sweet Pea will be available towards the end of this month. NO calories, NO GL rating – great for blood-sugar control – and guilt-free – our yummiest sweetener yet. AND super-healthy!  There’s a 2nd special ‘surprise’ free gift that goes with this too. Request our Bulk Discount List.  If however you wish to get your own pre-launch bottle of 200g for R45.00, let us know on pa@sallyanncreed.co.za and we’ll post it to you. Creeds will have it on the shelves soon, but it is ‘officially’ available only at the end of October.
  • Creamy Oat Milk Powder is at a very special discount for October. We’ve ordered loads as we keep running low due to huge demand! Oats are excellent for lowering cholesterol as they contain beta-glucans, well known for their unique soluble fibre which is abundant in oat milk.  Email us for special prices on our October Bulk List.

The Health Café:
Cold Red Bell Pepper Soup
With summer here, it’s time for delicious chilled soups.  This is one of my favourites:

What you’ll need:
3 large red bell peppers
4 leeks, sliced (white part only)
2 cups stock (I use Marigold stock cubes)
2 cups buttermilk
Pepper to taste

What you do with this:
Roast the peppers or grill them until the skin is charred
Place in a paper bag and cool, then peel them remove seeds, and cut into chunks.
Bring stock to the boil, add leeks and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add peppers and simmer 20 minutes more.
Cool; puree in a blender.
Add buttermilk and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve chilled.

Spiritual Health
I was thrilled to see that many of you commented on this section last month. Nothing will enhance your life and health more than knowing our magnificent Creator!  Romans 8:3 says:
He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things! If you would like to know more about how to know God, please contact me personally – we’d love to help you find that peace that passes all understanding.

BYE FOR NOW
Life’s to be lived to the full – you only have ONE life – make sure what you do will count both for now and for all eternity.  Love & blessings till next month!
